WHAT IS PILATES?

Developed in the 1920’s by Joseph Pilates, this method of exercise creates better posture, spinal flexibility and internal strength and flexibility.

HOW DO I BEGIN IF I’VE NEVER DONE PILATES BEFORE?

We love having clients brand new to Pilates. By starting with the basics and moving clients forward at a pace that is right for them, we are able to meet everyone’s individual needs. Depending on your comfort level you may either start by joining beginner classes or by taking one-on-one sessions. 

DO YOU OFFER PILATES MAT CLASSES?

All our classes are on the Pilates apparatus, however we have live virtual Mat on Zoom and a vast video library of Mat workouts through our online subscription service. 

CAN I DO PILATES IF I AM PREGNANT?

Yes, you may do Pilates if you are pregnant, however we require pregnant clients to work one-on-one with one of our qualified instructors and are not allowed to attend group classes. 

*All pregnant clients are required to provide a Dr’s note confirming that Pilates would be beneficial before beginning.

HOW CAN I BE ASSURED I AM WORKING WITH A QUALIFIED INSTRUCTOR?

So happy you asked! All of our instructors have graduated from our own extensive Whole Body Method certification where they have completed a 500 hour education in the art and science of Classical Pilates.

CAN I DO PILATES IF I’VE HAD AN INJURY?

It will depend on the type and stage of healing of the injury. We will work with your doctor or physical therapist to assess the best path for you. Mostly we’ll recommend starting with a one-on-one session first. Please call us to discuss.

CAN I SPLIT A PACKAGE WITH A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER?

No, all packages must be kept separate. Our system is not capable of keeping track of split packages.

IF I BUY A CLASS PACKAGE WITH A 30 DAY EXPIRATION BUT CANNOT USE IT IN 30 DAYS CAN IT BE EXTENDED?

No. If you find you cannot use your class package within the 30 day time period due to vacation, illness etc. you may not extend it, however; you may pay the difference to make it a non-expiring package and use the remaining sessions.

I CAN’T FINISH MY PACKAGE. MAY I GET A REFUND OR GIVE MY SESSIONS TO SOMEONE ELSE?

We have a no refund policy, however if you are unable to continue with your package you may give your sessions to a friend or family member to use. Please call the studio to sort out.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN EACH CLASS?

All classes are purposely kept very small for maximum amount of individualized attention. 8 per class. Please choose a class appropriate to your level.

HOW MANY TIMES SHOULD I DO PILATES PER WEEK?

We recommend at least 2x per week, however the more you do the faster you will see results.

WHAT KIND OF PILATES DO YOU TEACH?

We teach the classical method as originally designed by Joseph Pilates emphasizing the principles of whole body awareness, precision, control and connection.

WHAT ARE STUDENT SESSIONS?

We have our own Pilates Certification, and as a result we students training to be Pilates instructors. In a student session, the client trains one-on-one with a student instructor. These sessions cost $30 per 50 minute session.
